What are HubSpot's default settings?

Understand HubSpot’s default settings and how to adjust language, time zone, currency, and more to suit your business.

When you first set up HubSpot, it comes with default settings to get you started quickly. These settings are designed to suit a wide range of users, but you can easily customise them to match your specific needs. Here’s an overview of the key default settings in HubSpot, so you know what to expect and how to adjust them if needed.

Default Settings in HubSpot

  1. Language

HubSpot’s default language is English (US). However, you can change this to match your preferred language. HubSpot supports multiple languages, including British English, French, German, Spanish, and more, so you can work in the language you’re most comfortable with.

  1. Time Zone

The default time zone is set to Eastern Time (ET) (US and Canada). If your business operates in a different region, you’ll want to update this to reflect your local time zone. This ensures that timestamps on emails, meetings, and reports align with your working hours.

  1. Currency

By default, HubSpot uses US Dollars (USD) as the currency for tracking deals and revenue. You can change the currency to match your local or preferred one—such as British Pounds (GBP), Euros (EUR), or any other option HubSpot supports. You can even add multiple currencies if you work with international clients.

  1. Date and Number Formatting

HubSpot’s default formatting is based on US conventions, with dates in the MM/DD/YYYY format and numbers using commas as thousands separators. If you’d prefer, you can adjust these to match your local format—for example, DD/MM/YYYY for the UK.

  1. Notification Preferences

By default, HubSpot sends notifications for key activities like new leads, tasks, or updates. You can review and tweak these settings to ensure you only get notified about what’s most important to you.

Why These Settings Matter

Getting your settings right from the start ensures a smooth experience for you and your team. It keeps everything aligned with your business operations and avoids confusion when working across time zones, currencies, or languages.
